Jordan FM discusses Calls on Immediate Halt of Israeli Aggression against Gaza

Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh Monday stressed, in telephone conversations, the importance of reaching an agreement for a ceasefire in Gaza and going back to the negotiation table

.Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh Monday stressed, in telephone conversations,  the importance of reaching an agreement for a ceasefire in Gaza and going back to the negotiation table, noting the repercussions that any vacuum resulting from the halt in peace talks can have.

"The only guarantee for the security and stability of the region (Middle East) is the establishment of an independent and viable Palestinian state," the foreign minister said. Further, he called for an immediate stop to the Israeli aggression and targeting of civilians in Gaza.

Judeh spoke over the phone with Dutch Foreign Minister Frans Timmermans, Tunisian Foreign Minister Munji Hamid, British Foreign Minister Philip Hammond, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri and the Secretary General of the Arab League Nabil Elaraby.

These telephonic contacts, the minister said, were part of the continued Jordanian efforts to stop the Israeli military aggression on the coastal enclave.
