Yemen’s Ansarullah Signs New Security Pact with Gov’t

Yemen’s pro-democracy opposition movement signed a new security and national partnership agreement with the government in Sanaa.

Al-Manar correspondent in Yemen reported the agreement, saying it took place following long discussions with the government, and noting that few amendments were carried out based on Ansarullah’s demands.Security deal in Yemen

Our reporter said that the agreement tackles the security situation in the country, in a bid to prevent any internal strife in the future.

On September 21, representatives of the Ansarullah movement and the government signed a deal to establish a government of technocrats within a month.

Yemeni protesters have hailed the agreement as a great achievement and say the deal will hopefully, in the long run, put an end to their grievances.

Ansarullah activists, also known as Houthis, have been staging demonstrations in the capital for more than a month, demanding the formation of a new government.
