Pakistan securityA motorcycle bomb Sunday killed an eight-year old boy and wounded six other people in the restive southwestern Pakistani province of Baluchistan, officials said.

The bomb went off in a main market street in the border town of Chaman, which faces Afghanistan's town of Spin Boldak and has seen several bomb and suicide attacks in the past.

"An eight-year old boy was killed and six others were wounded when a bomb planted on a motorcycle exploded in Taj Bazaar," local police station chief Agha Mohammad said.

Provincial home secretary Akbar Hussain Durrani confirmed the bombing and casualties, and said four of the wounded had been discharged from hospital after treatment.

Baluchistan, Pakistan's largest but least developed and most sparsely populated province, has been racked for decades by a separatist insurgency that was revived in 2004.
