Hezbollah stressed on Monday that the case of Imam Sayyed Mussaal-Sadr’s disappearance is a top priority, calling for exerting efforts in a bid to uncover his fate.

In a statement released by Hezbollah’s Media Relations on the 37th anniversary of the disappearance of Imam Sadr, the resistance movement said that the current government in Libya bears responsibility of uncovering the fate of Imam Sadr.

Hezbollah flag and Imam Sayyed Mussa al-Sadr“The crime of Imam Musa Sadr’s disappearance is the responsibility of the criminal that has committed it, whose page has been closed by history forever,” said the statement, in reference to slain dictator Moammar Gaddafi who ruled Libya for more than 40 years.

“Responsibility also falls on the Libyan governments that succeeded the revolution in the country,” the statement added.

Imam Sayyed Mussa al-Sadr went missing during a visit to Libya on Aug. 31, 1978, along with his two companions - Sheikh Mohammad Yacoub and journalist Abbas Badreddine. It is widely believed that Gaddafi ordered Imam Sadr’s abduction.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah stressed that Imam Sadr’s teachings “light the way to confront threats targeting our Ummah (nation), on top of which are the Zionist and the Takfiri threats, Monday statement added.
