Zarif Says Vienna Talks on Nuclear Deal Progressive

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that the negotiations with the Group 5+1 in Vienna on the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) were good and constructive.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that the negotiations with the Group 5+1 in Vienna on the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) were good and constructive.

'We had discussions with the G5+1, specially the Americans on expediting the implementation of the commitments of the other side and we wanted to make sure that these commitments will be implement in different areas of the JCPOA,' Zarif told reporters on Friday.

The talks were held on the sidelines of the negotiations on Syria.

He went on to say that one of the issues is the issue of Arak heavy water reactor that 'we had detailed discussions in this field', including the other side's commitments for renovating Arak, which we made good progress, IRNA news agency reported.

'We talked about the US measures which need to be taken and for providing guarantee to our trade partners in order not to block trade with Iran and we achieved good agreements in these fields and it was agreed to work more on that,' Zarif added.

He noted that Iran and the US held three sessions of negotiations and in each of them Iran coordinated with the US and they gave their responses to Iran.

'We hope that the sessions held on Thursday and Friday could help to the implementation of the JCPOA,' Zarif said.
