Local Editor

Turkish navy drill in the Aegean SeaTurkish military and governmental forces are going to conduct a maritime drill under the supervision of the Islamic Republic, Iranian state-run news agency reported Wednesday.

Units of Turkey’s naval and air forces, coast guard and Ministry of Transportation, using different kinds of naval vessels, fighter bombers and helicopters, will take part in the `Sea Lion-2012' maneuver, which will be supervised by Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and the Islamic Republic Army, alongside certain other countries.

The maneuver is held once each two years in the Aegean Sea, for discovery and rescue missions conducted in the sea.
