Afkham“The air raids are a sign of Tel Aviv’s connivance with terrorist groups to destroy the Arab country and kill innocent Syrian people,” Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham said on Monday.

She further called on the United Nations to fulfill its duties to stop such aggression. “The Zionist regime [of Israel] is seeking to cash in on the critical situation in Syria,” the foreign ministry spokeswoman said, adding that Tel Aviv will suffer the consequences of fanning the flames of violence in the crisis-hit country.

RussiaIn turn, the Russian Foreign Ministry expressed grave concern over the airstrike against Syria, calling on Tel Aviv to provide explanation regarding the military aggression.

“Moscow is deeply worried by this dangerous development, the circumstances of which demand an explanation,” said Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich.

Russia has sent a letter to the UN complaining about Israel’s “aggressive action,” stressing such attacks should not take place in the future, he added.
