Yemeni Army, Popular Committees Inflict Heavy Losses upon Saudi-led Invaders
Local Editor

The Yemeni army and the popular committees inflicted heavy losses upon the Saudi-led forces who have been engaged in the so-called “restoring Sanaa” offensive in Maarib.

Heavy clashes have been taking place in Maarib province where the Saudi-led coalition forces are pressing to seize the capital Sanaa, Yemeni military sources said late on Sunday.

Yemen clashesDozens of the offensive forces have been killed and injured, the sources said, adding that among the casualties were Saudis, Emiratis, Bahrainis and Qataris.
“The coalition forces were screaming as they were calling for help,” the sources said referring to the heavy losses inflicted upon the invaders.

“Dozens of the coalition vehicles were destroyed as the courageous fighters of the army and the popular committees were repelling the offensive,” the sources added.

Yemen has been since March 26 under brutal aggression by Saudi-led coalition. Thousands have been martyred and injured in the attack, with the vast majority of them are civilians.

Riyadh launched the attack on Yemen in a bid to restore power to fugitive president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi who is a close ally to Saudi Arabia.

However, Yemeni army, backed by popular committees and tribal fighter has been responding to the aggression by targeting several Saudi border military posts and cleansing several areas across the country, especially the country’s south, from Hadi and al-Qaeda-linked militias.
